Promise Faith Centre Church is an independent Pentecostal ministry, uniquely structured and governed. We are commissioned by God to evangelise and empower individuals to become “Promise Obtainers,” ultimately glorifying Him. Our core message, inspired by Hebrews 6:12, is that “Promise Obtainers Glorify God.”. Promise Faith headquarters is located in Alectown, NSW Australia, led by Bishop Barry Cunnington.

By training, equipping and empowering believers & church leaders in ministry in the word of faith and in God’s anointing, we work together to see the mountain of human, financial and spiritual obstacles removed and receiving grace upon grace, we will see our mission accomplished: The Gospel to every person, a church for every people group.
"For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace" John 1:16 and Zechariah 4:7

To impart exceptional Bible based training and resources, reforming and equipping believers and church leaders in ministry, so they can proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to see our people and our lands healed and the fulfilment of the prophetic promise:
“The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14

Loyalty is crucial for a growing, thriving ministry. We align our hearts with God's purposes and are steadfast in our commitment to sharing the Gospel to the nations.

Our ministry is active and life-giving. We model directly from Jesus' approach to healing, teaching and serving at our events, courses, crusades, churches and services.

We are called to love one another and Love God. Love is the glue that holds the five pillars of our ministry together and motivates us to action.

Every activity of our ministry is a partnership between our team and our partners. We ensure that all finances are directed to building God's Kingdom.

As we come together at events, crusades, meetings and courses, fellowship and community is what connects our members to God and one another.

All of Barry’s children are saved, all four in ministry, one leading the ministry of the Tent of Promise Inc, & one grandchild full time in ministry.
In one gathering, 72 extended family members came to Christ.
Barry has a full catalogue of testimonies over his long life, including angelic visitation and miracles and answered prayers too numerous to mention.
Barry’s preaching and teaching demonstrates God's Love and power, with rivers of living water flowing and releasing refreshing during his meetings.
Bishop Barry Cunnington is known as a prominent prayer warrior in Australia, part of one of three Australian representatives on the USA Presidents prayer initiative, supporting Trumps rededication of the United States, back to God.
Experienced Pastor with a demonstrated history of working in the religious institutions industry. Skilled in Nonprofit Organisations, Theology, Gospel, Discipleship, and Pastoral Counselling.
Strong community and social services professional, graduated from Wolaroi College, Orange. NSW and Wagga Agricultural College, NSW. Bishop Barry Cunnington's ministry reaches all over the world, predominantly Australia, Pacific Islands, Africa, America and Romania.
With preaching, teaching, Crusades, events, online courses and Bible College, Bishop Barry has ministered and reached hundreds of thousands of people with his teaching and preaching. Because of compassion for the lost and the perishing, even at the age 80, Bishop Barry is still going strong, running Crusades, camps, meetings and speaking at Churches all over the world.
Barry was born and raised in rural NSW, Australia, the only son of a Methodist Christian Family. It was recognised by his Christian peers and his parents that Barry had a call of God on his life. He was sent to a Methodist Boy’s College where he gave his life to Christ at a Billy Graham Crusade at the age of 15 in 1961.
Barry was water baptised and filled with God’s Holy Spirit in the early 1980’s, and these events immediately led to his leaving farming and zealously pursuing the call of God. He began to effectively communicate the Gospel and people began to come to Christ.
Barry attended Bible College with the Assemblies of God in Australia, graduated and was recognised for his call to evangelism by the A.O.G., was credentialed, and eventually ordained and consecrated as Bishop within the International Communion of Charismatic Churches (ICCC).
Barry, with the fire of the Holy Spirit, fervently began to preach and encourage people to repent and turn to God; in the streets and on every occasion, on building sites and wherever he went.
Encouraged, Barry then began to organise outreach and evangelism events through the Church he attended. This opened more effective doors for evangelism in the form of combined church outreaches. For 5 years he organised and was the evangelist for open air crusades on the Gold Coast beaches, QLD, each Easter. This was where tens of thousands gathered to hear the Good News of Jesus; and thus began the evangelism organisation he co-founded with his wife Sandra ‘The Tent of Promise Inc.’
From this beginning on the Gold Coast of Australia, Barry has seen God birth a National travelling Ministry, (The Tent of Promise), a ‘Home Church’ Headquarters planted on the Gold Coast/Tweed and an extensive African Network of churches, spanning East and West Africa, across 14 nations.
The Tent of Promise began in 1994, and has been functioning full time since 1999. The Tent of Promise Ministry is now one of only a few full time evangelism Tent Ministries operating successfully in Australia. Up until 2008, The Tent of Promise Ministry has held an outreach somewhere in rural Australia each week, for 42 weeks of the year.
The anointed preaching and teaching of Evangelist Barry Cunnington imparts faith to believe and receive the Promises of God. Many tens of thousands have come to faith in Jesus Christ through this ministry.
In 2005/6, Barry and Sandra Cunnington moved back to Australia’s Gold Coast/Tweed Heads cities. Here they pioneered a church base, and established the ongoing ministry of the Tent of Promise. The ministry included a training school, in which the Christ for All Nations Course, “Effective Soul Winning and Evangelism Course” was taught.
Barry believes that their faithfulness in their service to Jesus Christ led to effective doors for the Gospel being opened for them in Africa. From a humble and small beginning in Kenya from 1999, the Lord has increased them more and more, with ministry to Bible schools, Children’s day schools, Aid & Care Foundations, Churches, Widows, Orphans and the fatherless and also many programs of Infrastructure building.
In 2024 The Tent of Promise Incorporated was separated and became an independent ministry under the leadership of Rev Kristen Murray, Bishop Barry’s daughter who had been with the ministry since 2004, both the Promise Faith Centre Church and The Tent of Promise. Bishop Barry remains an oversight to The Tent of Promise Ministry.
Bishop Barry and others, including Marc Edwards (Sandra’s son), Carolyn Cummings and Rev Annita Irving (another two of Bishop Barry’s daughters), now continue the ministry of Promise Faith Centre Church and Promise Faith Centre Churches International, a network of churches in 15 nations.
Our team equips & trains Christian leaders and pastors to obtain the promises of God. We run Schools of World Evangelism and Renewal, conferences and God's love Crusades throughout Australia and Africa, seeking to save the lost.

PFCCI means Promise Faith Centre Churches International. PFCCI is a network of autonomous independent and denominational Pentecostal churches, with its headquarters “Promise Faith Centre Church” in Alectown, NSW, Australia. The network currently consists of the Promise Faith Centre Church on the Gold Coast and other churches throughout 18 nations of Africa, which by the leading of the Holy Spirit, have covenanted to unite with the Promise Faith Centre Church family. Many of the African churches are named “Promise Faith Centre Church”.
The network consists of a fellowship of Promise Faith Centre Churches and other churches whose Senior Ministers have connected their church in fellowship. Some churches which join choose to be called “Promise Faith Centre Church” while other churches which connect as members choose to keep their own church name.
The Member Churches recognise the spiritual oversight of the Bishop Barry Cunnington, Senior Minister of the Promise Faith Centre Church (PFCC) in Australia, and their delegated authorities. PFCC in Australia works closely with three Network Directors in Africa and with National Directors of each African nation.
Only Senior Minister of a church can choose to connect their church with the PFCCI network. In Africa, Senior Ministers require a reference from the Network Director (East, West or Southern Africa) and the National Director for the nation. This requires a personal meeting.

In recognition of the diversity of doctrines and customs which are represented in its participating network churches, the Promise Faith Centre Church does not set forth a doctrinal statement beyond the following Biblical affirmations:
We believe the Bible is the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of Jesus of Nazareth, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that salvation of lost and sinful man, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe the Holy Spirit is the teacher of truth.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection, and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in the return of the Lord Jesus Christ who will reward everyone according to the Gospel.
We believe that faith comes from hearing, and hearing from the Word of God.
We believe that faith without works is dead.
We believe in giving, and that true religion is caring for orphans and widows and being wholly separated to God.
We believe in divine healing and that the Lord Jesus Christ is The Healer. We believe that by the stripes of Jesus we are healed.
This information is made available to assist you in understanding the Biblical reasons why we worship the way we do. The Kingdom of God is found not in the ‘style’ of meeting but in the hearts of the worshippers. “The Kingdom of God is Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17).
Our expectation is that you will feel free to participate in our various services and events, and experience the Presence of God. We anticipate that the anointed preaching and teaching you hear at Promise Faith will impart faith for you to believe and receive the Promises of God.
The Anointing: The presence and work of the Holy Spirit in a person's life. “As for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and do not need anyone to teach you.” 1 John 2:27
To Minister: Means to serve, help or bless another by the Spirit of God. “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God; who also has made us able ministers of the new testament.” 2 Corinthians 3:5-6
The Glory: The revelation of God’s presence and splendour to man. “When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord. And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord had filled the place.” 1 Kings 8:10-11
Revelation: Is the revealing of God’s will and truths to man. “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance, in the saints, and His incomparable great power for us who believe.” Ephesians 1:17-19
Charismatic: Derived from the Greek word ‘Charisma’. The charisma of God is when the gifts for God are manifest. The gifts of the Holy Spirit include the message of wisdom, the message of knowledge, the gift of faith, gifts of healings, miraculous powers, prophecy, the ability to distinguish between spirits, speaking in different tongues and interpretation of tongues. These manifestations are know as the gifts of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

“You must worship the Lord your God and serve only Him.” Matthew 10:13
But the time is coming and is here now when true worshippers will worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth. The Father is looking for those who wall worship Him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in Spin and Truth.” John 4:23-24
“The the Levites from the clans of Kohath and Koran stood to praise the God of Israel, with a very loud shout.” 2 Chronicles 20:19.
“After this I saw a vast crowd too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language standing in front of the Throne and before the Lamb, They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. And they were shouting with a mighty shout, ‘Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb.” Revelation 7:9-10
“Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise” Psalm 47:1
“Don’t be drunk with wine because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spit singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts” Ephesians 5:18-19
“Let them praise His name with dancing” Psalm 149:3
“Praise Him with tambourine and dancing” Psalm 150:4

“Let all that I am praise the Lord, with my whole heart, I will praise His Holy Name” Psalm 103:1
“Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to His Name” Hebrews 13:15
“After this I heard what sounded like a roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting; ‘Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God’… then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and the load peals of thunder, shouting ‘Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns! Revelation 19:1-6
“Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with loud clanging cymbals” Psalm 150:3-5
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the food gates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it” Malachi 3:10
Jesus said, “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over and poured into your lap. The amount you give wall determine the amount you get back” Luke 6:38
Laying on of hands is one of 6 foundational doctrines of the Church (Repentance, faith, baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment) Hebrews 6:1-2. Jesus said “You shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover” Mark 16:18. According to the Bible there is an impartation from the Spirit ofGod for the grace needed eg, healing, peace etc.
It is an expression of our desire to seek and touch God. It is an act of faith and a confession of Jesus before men. “Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in Heaven.” Matthew 10:32
He said unto them, “Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?” And they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Spirit.” And he said unto them, “Unto what then were baptised?” And they said, “Unto John’s baptism.” … And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.” Acts 19:2-3, 6
“Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the Church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the Name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.”James 5:14-15
Or why do people fall under the power of God? Just as electricity is God’s power in the natural realm, God’s Holy Spirit manifests His power in the Spiritual realm. Electricity is not seen but we experience it’s power. In the same way the Holy Spirit is not seen, but we can experience His power. People may be overwhelmed with God’s divine presence.
“And he [Paul] fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?'” Acts 9:4
“So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God” 2 Chron. 5:14
For if pray in a tongue my spite prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but, I will also sing with my mind.” 1 Corinthians 14:15-16
“Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. But everything should be done a fitting and orderly way.” 1 Corinthians 14:39
“Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good… to another miraculous powers, to another prophesy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another ability to speaking in difference kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.” 1 Corinthians 12:7-10
“I would like everyone of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the Church may be edified.” 1 Corinthians 14:5
“If anyone speaks in a tongue, let two or at the most three should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret.” 1 Corinthians 14:2
He who speaks in ‘unknown’ tongues speaks to God.
“But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.” 1 Corinthians 14:3
Can a visitor prophesy in our Church? Generally, no. Not unless invited to for “the spirit of the prophets are subject to the prophets” (1 Cor. 14:32). Scripture says, “Let the prophets speak…” (1 Cor. 14:29). We believe someone earns the right to speak first by proving themselves faithful and true (2 Timothy 2:15). We hold membership classes each year to train members in ministry protocol. We are to guard the flock from false prophesy (2 Cor. 11:13-15, 1 John 4:1)
“When they heard this they raised their voices together in prayer to God. ‘Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them.'” Acts 4:24

Bishop Barry’s wife, Rev Sandra Cunnington, passed away the 14th June 2024. Earlier in 2019 Pastor Sandra shared this testimony for the first time, at an outreach at Wilcannia in NSW, during the relaunch of The Tent of Promise Ministry. This is a beautiful testimony of the restoring power of the Gospel. Listen to Pastor Sandra’s testimony, it will inspire you to trust Jesus, to bring alive again dead dreams.
Promise Faith in Australia maintains strong connections and recognises the spiritual oversight of the International Convention of Faith Ministries (ICFM), the International Communion of Charismatic Churches (ICCC), along with the vital work of the Daisy a Day Foundation.
